Mock Turtle Café: A Wonderland Escape

A whimsical tribute to Lewis Carroll’s ‘Alice in Wonderland’

JayMT & Silva brought the whimsical world of Alice in Wonderland to life at Mock Turtle Café, nestled in Melbourne’s iconic Degraves Street. Inspired by the café’s namesake—a character from Lewis Carroll’s timeless tale—the mural captures the surreal and playful essence of Wonderland. Through vibrant colors and intricate details, the mural transforms the café into an immersive storytelling experience. JayMT & Silva’s vision was to create a space where customers can feel a sense of wonder and escapism, aligning with the café’s mission to provide not just great coffee, but a unique, memorable atmosphere that pays homage to literary creativity.

JayMT & Silva collaborated with the café owners to design a mural inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland. Starting with detailed sketches, the design incorporated key characters and motifs from the story. Over a five-day period, they used high-quality paints to create a vibrant, durable masterpiece. The mural integrates seamlessly with the café’s interior, enhancing its identity and offering patrons an enchanting visual narrative with every visit.
